Viper Softworks
GameWarp for Xbox Privacy Policy
Effective: October 17, 2026
GameWarp for Xbox ("GameWarp") is made by Viper Softworks. It streams your own Xbox console to your Android TV or Google TV. This policy explains what GameWarp does with your information. In short: we collect only what you send us in a report.
What we collect
Only what you choose to send us in a report. GameWarp has no account system of its own, no analytics, no advertising and no automatic crash reporting. It sends nothing to Viper Softworks unless you send a report.
Reports
If you use Report a problem or “Remote play is down”, GameWarp sends us your email address, what you wrote, the area and how serious it is. Unless you turn diagnostics off, it also sends: GameWarp’s version, whether it runs on its own or inside WatchWall, your TV’s maker, model and Android version, the connection state and the last error, the picture quality, your controllers’ names, your audio output, your network type and the TV’s free memory. A “Remote play is down” report always includes diagnostics. Reports never include your Microsoft sign-in, gamertag or console.
How we use reports
We use a report only to look into the problem and to reply to you by email. Reports are kept in our support system and are not sold or shared for advertising. To have a report deleted, email us with its reference number.
Your Microsoft sign-in
You sign in with Microsoft on your phone, using the code GameWarp shows on the TV. You never type your password into GameWarp. Microsoft then gives GameWarp sign-in tokens so it can reach your Xbox. GameWarp stores those tokens only on your TV, encrypted with a key held by the TV's secure key storage, and sends them only to Microsoft's sign-in and Xbox services. Choosing Sign out in GameWarp deletes them. Microsoft's handling of your account is covered by Microsoft's own privacy statement.
Streaming
Your games are streamed from your Xbox through Microsoft's Xbox services to your TV, and your controller input travels back the same way. The connection is encrypted. GameWarp does not record or store your gameplay.
Microphone
The microphone is off until you turn it on, and it stays on only for that session. While it is on, your voice is sent live to your Xbox party chat. GameWarp does not record or store it.
Bluetooth and location permission
On Android 11 and older, Android requires location permission to scan for Bluetooth game controllers. GameWarp asks for it only for that purpose and never reads or sends your location.
Data on your TV
GameWarp keeps your settings, your chosen console, a small local diagnostic log and, if you ask it to, your email address for reports on your TV. Apart from what you send in a report, they never leave it. Uninstalling GameWarp deletes all of it.
Children
GameWarp is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
